I appreciate Medium’s effort yet the past several months as both a paid member AND creator have been beyond frustrating. And this redesign serves no one but Medium itself.

The new UI is so buggy and dysfunctional that if I wasn’t a creator with a great community, I would’ve canceled my membership months ago. It used to be my favorite app and no I just want to delete it—especially on my iPad (yay, to a hard app reset EVERY time I open up comments). The neverending notifications (and lack of control in managing them) is enough to drive a sane person crazy.

The algorithm is broken. If I open an article accidentally (that I’m not interested in), my feed becomes PACKED with articles covering that topic.

I literally have to search to find articles by the people I actually want to hear from, and leaving comments from mobile is a nightmare (iPad worse!). Sometimes I see the bubble profiles and can then access their articles, but then I have to forgo the Following feed which puts them all together. And my heavens, it is not to much to ask to be able to search by date???? I’m so tired of seeing articles from early last year!

My background is in user-experience design and I owned a digital marketing agency for over a decade, and I’ve never seen such a total fail with a redesign before!

I’m not trying to be rude, but this redesign doesn’t serve anyone who’s creating the content that attracts people or even the people reading the content.

Do whatever you want, but at least give us an option to revert back to the old Medium. I’d LOVE to enjoy using this app again.
