As I always say, I’m on the “10-year plan” ie the copper IUD and absolutely love it. My ADHD has me on enough emotional rollercoasters and I’ve never been interested in adding hormones to my body, much less preventing my moon from occurring. To each their own, but I believe hormonal birth control plays a huge role (much bigger than the industry shares) in ovarian cancer, breast cancer and more. And the work by researcher Alisa Vitti will have anyone second-guessing that option.
My copper IUD (I’m on my second) has been spectacular. My cycles were heavier in the beginning but then returned to normal, I’ve never had any issues with it, and it’s prevented me from getting pregnant for many years.
Plus, it’s covered by insurance and only happens once every 10 years!
